    Customer Review: great coffee
Nice product great for people who need a quick cup or have a number of different type of drinkers. Does a mean hot tea also.
    Customer Review: Mixed feelings
Got this for Christmas and the gadget guy in me thinks it's cool. There's no doubt that it's simple and easy to use, though I'm not sure the point of a pre-set timer since it can heat up the water in <2 minutes and it's cooling in your mug the second it hits. I also question the cost of both the unit and the coffee. Forty-two cents isn't bad for a cup of great coffee, but I'm still experimenting and haven't hit that "great cup" just yet. Having gone through the sampler pack and a box of Newman's Extra Bold (that the wife got me), I'm still experimenting. Issues around the plastic waste generated by each of those k-cups. Note as well, tea from these units is weak due to it's fast brew system. Hot chocolate was similar, but may differ by maker.

Capresso 4460 Charcoal Water Filters for Capresso ST600 Coffeemaker, 6 Pack

Capresso 6-Pack Charcoal Water Filters for Capresso ST600 - Capresso 4460
    Customer Review: Capresso coffee maker
This is a very good product that also looks great. We have had no problems at all with it!
    Customer Review: Pricey Filters!
These filters are designed for the Capresso ST600 only. Whether you choose to use them or not is optional - the coffee maker works fine without them. I bought them to remove the chlorine from my city tap water. According to Capresso, each filter is good for about six weeks or 80 pots of coffee. They work well, but are over-priced IMHO.

    Customer Review: Makes terrible coffee
Ok, I know that this is meant to be a no-frills, simple coffee maker, but the quality of the coffee that it produces is just unacceptable. Like another reviewer wrote, it doesn't heat the water hot enough to make flavorful coffee. So unless you like warm, weak coffee, stay away from this machine! The spout on my carafe didn't leak, but the carafe, itself, was rather fragile. Terrible buy. I'm returning mine tomorrow.

    Customer Review: Not worth it...
I have had two of these coffeemakers over the last year, and I have to agree with the other reviewers. There are good features to this coffeemaker - freshly brewed coffee tastes very good, it's nice to keep it hot inside the coffeemaker, and it looks nice on your counter. HOWEVER, there are some major problems here. I haven't had "steam problems" mentioned by another reviewer, but the condensation from the lid definitely runs down the back of the coffeemaker (and right onto the cord) when you open it to clean it. The biggest problem we've had, however, is that if we make anything more than 8 cups of coffee the grounds overflow and go into the container that holds the coffee, then plug up the spout where the coffee is poured out into your cup. Not only does this leave grounds in your coffee, but occasionally it clogs the spout making it impossible to shut, so coffee just pours out - all over your counters, floor, and in our case, into the drawers under the counter too. First we tried a replacement filter, then Cuisinart sent us an entirely new unit. Same problem each time. On the positive side, Cuisinart's customer service has been very good, and they are again replacing our unit - this time with a different model.
Customer Review: Don't waste your money
We have now buried our THIRD Cuisinart 12-cup Coffeemaker. As the other reviewer said, they just stop working. The merchant has given replacements to this point, but we are actually tired of taking the item back, and don't want another bad machine. It has gotten almost embarrassing. Also, this coffeemaker can't be kept under cupboards or near curtains due to the steam. When you open the back to fill, the condensation runs down the machine and onto the countertop. It is hard to fill, hard to see where you are pouring when filling. The Auto-On function was very handy, and it did make fairly good coffee when it worked, it just won't keep working.

Cuisinart DCC-2200 Brew Central 14-Cup Coffeemaker

Includes Cuisinart Brew Central Coffeemaker Gold Tone filter Charcoal water filter Instruction book Measuring Scoop
    Customer Review: Cuisinart DCC-2200 review
This is a very good product, blends well with the other Cuisinart products in our kitchen, is easy to program and use.
    Customer Review: Cuisinart DCC-2200
The peer reviews on the Cuisinart left me hesitant in buying one. There is overall agreement on the results (good coffee), but the journey there appears to be a rough one. I've had the DCC-2200 for three weeks now. I can't find fault in the build of this coffee maker. Despite the stainless steel exterior, it is mostly plastic, but everything fits together reassuringly tightly. I think the looks are rather good - a first from a line of coffee makers that honestly look rather clunky before. The layout for the coffee filter and the water is fine. Comments about tight access to the water reservoir are largely exaggerated. I pour lefty and have no problem. The plastic is molded such that spilt water runs into the reservoir. The filter is in the front, giving easy access to add the coffee. I have one complaint about the setup: I hate interior water level marks. Where as some coffee makers have a transparent tube or window running up the reservoir so you can see how much water is in there, the 2200 requires you look down into the reservoir. It's an awkward arrangement on a unit that otherwise is ergonomically well thought out. You get a timer for scheduled brewing, a self cleaning cycle, a 4 cup brewing mode, and control over how long the heating plate stays on. Brewing cycles are longish, but near silent -- so silent, in fact, that a small beep is used to announce the end of the brewing cycle. Yes, the clock is small - it's to schedule brewing, not be the main clock in the kitchen. One very nice thing about it - the clock briefly retains settings if the unit is unplugged. Very good! Previously, I had complained about thinnish tasting coffee. A few friends dissed my choice of beans, so I switched to 2 different other beans, and yep, the full rich flavor is back. Ironically, both brands of beans are actually roasted by the same local company, but the difference in flavor is dramatic. All is forgiven, I'm very happy with the results now. The Cusinart DCC-2200 is a well built coffee maker. I wondered if it was going to be worth the $30 premium over more basic European brands. I think it is - this unit feels very solid, and more importantly, the coffee comes out great. Recommended.

Zojirushi EC-BD15 Fresh Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker

Lots of folks dislike the burnt flavor that coffee gets when it sits in a glass pot over a heating element. To avoid this, coffee shops often brew right into large thermal pots to keep the coffee warm without it becoming overcooked. The Zojirushi Fresh Brew does that, too, but in home-sized batches. It looks great, too, with a glossy black body and stainless steel carafe and brew basket.

To brew, lift the lid and swing the water outlet spout to one side while the filter is being loaded; the spout will return to its proper position when the lid is closed. A small red ball in the water gauge makes it extra simple to read. And an electronic clock module also serves as a timer that will start the brewer at a specified time. The carafe's lid is designed to be on during brewing, with a small cap to help keep the heat in after it's ready. The Fresh Brew also has a pause-and-serve function that stops the flow for 30 seconds while a cup of coffee is served.

To clean the brewer unit, use a solution of white vinegar and water, following the instructions in the accompanying booklet. The unit is not immersible. The exterior can be wiped with a damp soft rag; do not use abrasives or scouring pads. The filter reservoir is removable; clean with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. The coffee brewer measures 15 by 12 by 9 inches (includes carafe handle when unit is completely assembled), and it uses #3 cone-shaped disposable paper filters. The Fresh Brew comes with a detailed instruction booklet. Zojirushi guarantees its products with a one-year limited warranty. --Garland Withers
    Customer Review: save your money!
They are out of their minds charging as much as they do for this piece of cheap junk. It does NOT brew hot coffee that stays hot. I'm pretty mad that I took a chance on this expecting so very much more. My old old Genvalia is far superior to this horrid machine. The Zoji looks pretty and the tag lines which describe it are slick and enticing but really - if you know coffee and appreciate it as much as I do - you will steer clear of this Chinese machine. I'm also wondering if the plastic is poisonous. No way of knowing is there? Save your ducets or buy a microwave with the Zoji because you are going to need it. Man am I ticked!
Customer Review: Very disappointed -- coffee goes cold fast
It's true that the coffee is kept hot in the pot as others claim, but the problem is once it's out of the pot. Even coffee poured right after brewing quickly gets cold. I can't explain it, but it's true, and it makes this purchase very disappointing. Also, the lid for the carafe is uncomfortable and difficult to turn every time you want a refill.
